Getting your Ps

Licence requirements in Victoria

For drivers under 21 (P1 licence)

To be eligible for the practical driving test, you must meet three core requirements:

  • Hold your learner permit for a minimum of 12 months
  • Log at least 120 hours of supervised driving
  • Successfully pass the Hazard Perception Test

For drivers 21 and over (P2 licence)

The requirements change significantly if you are 21 or older:

  • Exempt from the 12-month waiting period
  • Exempt from the 120 hours of supervised driving
  • After passing the practical test, you receive a P2 licence (bypassing P1)

Preparing for the driving test

Build confidence before test day

Good preparation reduces mistakes and builds the confidence needed to pass. Taking lessons with a professional instructor right before your test provides practical tips to help you pass on your first attempt. We also offer mock driving tests to evaluate your readiness.

Stage 1 — Low-risk environment

  • Performed in less-challenging, low-traffic areas and non-priority roads
  • Simple tasks like basic left and right turns
  • Mandatory: either a three-point turn or a reverse parallel park

Stage 2 — Day-to-day traffic

  • Busier, medium-to-heavy traffic on roads with 60–80 km/h limits
  • Lane changing, merging, and right-hand turns onto main roads

  • Do you charge for pickup?

    No. For each driving lesson we pick you up from your place and drop you off when you finish, anywhere in our north-west Melbourne service area.

  • How long are lesson packages valid?

    All driving lessons and packages are prepaid and valid for 3 months from purchase.

  • Do you teach manual?

    We specialise in automatic lessons only. Automatic cars are easier and safer to learn in, letting you focus on the road and traffic signs.
