Getting your Ps
Licence requirements in Victoria
Your minimum learner-permit period and supervised-driving requirements depend on your age. All learners must also meet the current VicRoads eligibility and testing requirements.
Drivers under 21
Before sitting the practical driving test, you generally need to:
- Hold your learner permit continuously for at least 12 months.
- Complete 120 supervised hours, including at least 20 hours at night.
- Pass the Hazard Perception Test and practical driving test.
- After passing, begin with a P1 probationary licence.
Drivers aged 21–24
The learner-permit period is shorter for this age group:
- Hold your learner permit continuously for at least six months.
- The 120-hour logbook requirement does not apply.
- Pass the Hazard Perception Test and practical driving test.
- After passing, receive a P2 probationary licence.
Drivers aged 25+
The minimum continuous learner period is shorter again:
- Hold your learner permit continuously for at least three months.
- The 120-hour logbook requirement does not apply.
- Pass the Hazard Perception Test and practical driving test.
- After passing, receive a P2 probationary licence.

Preparing for the driving test
Build confidence before test day
Good preparation reduces mistakes and builds the confidence needed to pass. Lessons with an accredited instructor before your test provide practical guidance for safer, more consistent driving. Mock driving tests are also available to assess your readiness and identify what to improve.
Stage 1 — Low-risk environment
- Practise in quieter, lower-traffic streets and uncomplicated road environments.
- Build confidence with basic left and right turns.
- Develop low-speed control through three-point turns and reverse parallel parking.
Stage 2 — Day-to-day traffic
- Progress to busier roads, moderate-to-heavy traffic and higher speed zones.
- Practise lane changing, merging and safe gap selection.
- Build confidence with right-hand turns onto main roads and complex intersections.

Do you charge for pickup?
No. For each driving lesson, we pick you up from your home, school or work and drop you off when the lesson finishes, within our north-west Melbourne service area.
How long are lesson packages valid?
All driving lessons and packages are prepaid and valid for three months from the purchase date.
Do you teach manual?
We specialise in automatic driving lessons. Automatic cars are easier to operate, allowing learners to focus more attention on observation, decisions, surrounding traffic and road signs.
